Black & Decker DCM2500-PT 12-Cup Programmable Coffeemaker

Customer Review: Timer/Auto Shutoff Do Not Work
I have spent so much time returning and following up on this thing, I am disgusted with myself. I am very surprised at how poor the customer service has been.
Customer Review: Not bad for a budget
For someone on a budget this simple coffee maker will get the job done. It has a programmable timer so you can set it to have your pot of coffee brewed when you get up, though i'd recommend setting it to brew AFTER your alarm has gone off. The only real downside to this machine is that it beeps. At first it's nice to have that loud beeping to tell you the coffee is done or the machine is about to turn off. After a little while that beep begins to grate on you every time it goes off though. Of course you could give it as a gift or put it in the work place and laugh as all your coworkers cringe whenever it sounds.

Using a water heater timer could be the answer to your prayers. If you have been experiencing a surge in your electricity bills, start considering getting one now. Heaters are the highest energy-consuming devices found in your home. You could be spending up to $400 per year in electricity costs just because of it!

An average brand heats gallons of water every time, regardless of whether you use it or not. When you're asleep or out of your home, it water and continues to do so until you use it. This is the reason why you get high utility bills. In order for you to cut back on these costs, you can get a timer.

What is a Water Heater Timer?

This is a device attached to your heater that allows you to control when you want to turn on/off your water heater at different times of the day.

How is this considered a factor in saving energy?

There is no need for a it to continue doing its function when you are at work or asleep. Usually, hot water is needed only for showers, doing the dishes, and laundry. This runs for about 4 hours in a day. Instead of heating water over and over again for 24 hours a day, you have the power of setting when and how often it operates. This can save you up to 12% of energy.

How does a water heater timer work?

These timers have manual buttons that lets you set specific times to turn on/off your heater during the day. For some, you can choose up to 24 on/off settings for each day so you can modify and fine tune your schedule.

If your schedule varies with each day, you can opt for more highly developed ones that come with a programmable function. A digital timer provides seven-day programming that allows you to set a different schedule for each day of the week. Basically, you are in charge of setting the schedules according to your time of use. This is especially suited for those with flexible schedules who have no routine time in needing hot water.

For those with schedules varying only in the weekend, there are less expensive ones available that come with a weekday and weekend schedule.

Digital timers also have a built-in backup that saves your schedule even when there is a power outage. Through this, you do not have to reset your schedule every time a power outage occurs. These timers require minimal, if not zero maintenance.

How can I further cut back on electricity costs?

Contact your utility company and inquire if they offer a demand management program. This means different rates are charged depending on the demand for electricity at that specific time. Lower rates are charged when there is low demand (off peak hours), and higher rates are charged when demand is high (on peak hours). If you are able to set it to function during off peak hours, then you can further cut back on electricity costs.

If you want to reduce your expenses on electricity bills, consider purchasing a water heater timer. It is a very good investment since it is cost-efficient, cheap and easy to use. The best part is using it for just about two to three months would save you the amount of money you used to purchase your timer. It actually pays for itself! This shows how effective water heater timers are in saving you big bucks.

Coffee Presses

French presses or more recently coffee presses are the ultimate green coffee maker. Other than heating water in a separate kettle no energy is required, and now the Toddy Maker Cold Brew Coffee Maker eliminates even that requirement. The toddy maker coffee cold brew method drastically reduces many of the oils and acids found in hot brewed coffee that are not soluble at low temperatures. Cold brew coffee is easier on the stomach for acid sensitive coffee drinkers. Opinions vary on if cold brew leaves too much of the oil and acid in the bean.

Perhaps the most valuable feature of coffee presses is that they give you absolute control over the temperature of the water used for the coffee maker brew, which, along with the quality of the bean, is probably the most important factor in the quest for the perfect cup. Bodum is still the biggest seller worldwide but AeroPress and other coffee press manufacturers are making a name. The number of reviews for coffee machines of all kinds indicate how passionate people are about their coffee and the different styles of coffeemakers.

Drip Coffeemakers

Cold water from a reservoir on the coffee maker is first heated and then dripped onto coffee grounds contained within a filter assembly. That is the essence of a drip coffeemaker. You can still find manual drip coffeemakers but the overwhelming majority of drip coffee makers are electric. The final result is brewed coffee deposited into a glass pot, a thermal carafe, or an insulated travel mug.

There are variations in the water temperature of the brew, the filter assembly design, and speed of the drip, so some drip coffeemakers do make better coffee than others, and it's not necessarily a function of price. Black & Decker is the value leader. With a little experience, however, you can tweak any drip coffeemaker to get it just right for you. Some models are programmable and have built-in water filters. Some drip coffeemakers like the Cuisinart DGB900 grind and brew in one operation. A drip coffeemaker sits on your kitchen counter in plain sight so maybe the deciding factor should be whether the darn thing is attractive enough to be there.

The first glance at the title, you might be thinking about the relation spacemaker coffee maker has with a homemaker. One of the questions might be the difference between this and other coffee machines.

So, what are the differences? I would definitely touch on that later, but first, let's consider the needs of a homemaker. They are usually ladies (although research shown that more and more man are taking up this role as well), that has leave their jobs to dedicate their time and attention in building a good home. To them, anything that can save them time and effort is a great value add. And let me assure you that all coffee machines are build with the intention to assist their owners as best as they can. If possible, they would want their owners to have a push button experience.

We all know that there are plenty of push button for great coffee experience. While spacemaker from Black and Decker is not yet that advanced, it is definitely a coffee machine that would alleviate the woes of most homemakers. Cleaning the counter top is one major headache of homemakers. So, the lesser thing there are on the counter top, the easier would be the cleaning process. Thus, an under cabinet coffee maker, it provides a great value add in this area.

And this is the biggest difference between a spacemaker and other coffee machines. Their design allows them to be tucked under the counter, and this is a feature that only comes with this make of machine. Since we are on the cleaning portion, other than the whole house, cleaning of coffee makers is something that they look forward to for help. And with its easily removable brew basket and water reservoir, this Black and Decker model again provides a value add to our homemakers.

Most people feedback that the most difficult part in taking care of a family is in preparing the breakfast, a good one with time to spend with the family is critical to family bonding. And this is another area that the it can value add. Equipped with a programmable feature, one can decide what time should the coffee be brewed the next morning, saving precious time to concentrate in preparing for the other aspect of breakfast.

Well, after all these information, you must be wondering if there is any specific spacemaker coffee maker that you should check out. Personally, I find the ODC 440 to be very reliable and the features are exactly as what was detailed above. There are probably some other brands of coffee machines that has such a function, but when it comes to under counter, Black and Decker is the market leader, and that is the reason why I am recommending the ODC 440 for this under cabinet genre.

There you have it, a coffee brewer that would reduces your work in cleaning the house and is also a very easy to maintain coffee brewer that comes with the ability to set coffee for the next day, I believe this is one machine that not only the homemaker but everyone would love!

Black & Decker (Us) Inc B&D Utc Coffee Maker 12 Cup Black

Air Conditioners: In an Air Conditioner chemicals are used to cool the temperature of the room. The liquid chemicals are produced from a gas, which again converts to gas form. The chemical transfers the heat from the inside to the outside of the room.

Mainly the Air Conditioner machine has three parts, a compressor, a condenser and an evaporator. The condenser and compressor are in the outside portion of the machine while the evaporator is located inside the room.

In the processor the chemical, which is a low-pressured cooled gas, enters. The processor then squeezes that chemical. It makes the molecules of the chemical come closer together. The closer molecules create high energy and heat. The chemical leaves the compressor as hot and high-pressure gas and enters the condenser. At the backside of the machine we can see a metal fin. It works as a radiator and helps to cool down the heat very quickly. When the chemical leaves the condenser, it becomes very cold. The liquid flows in the evaporator through a small hole.

On the other end the chemical becomes colder and starts to evaporate and becomes gas. As the liquid becomes gas it soaks heat from the surrounding area. The heat of the air is needed to separate molecules of the chemical, which were packed together in the processor. The evaporator also has metal fins to exchange cool temperature with surrounding air. The liquid again leaves the evaporator and begins the same process. A fan connected with the evaporator circulates the cool air into the room.

Customer Review: Should be recalled
I had a Black & Decker spacemaker model for 13 years and loved it. When it took its last breath, I naturally went with the new space maker. What a huge disappointment. I woke up one morning to find the grinds and water all over the counter. I called Black & Decker and they sent me a new brew basket. This one leaks all over the place, unless you tape it shut or wrap elastics around the front inner part of the basket. The clock changes time all by itself and after you pour yourself a cup of coffee, you need to put the cup in the microwave to make the coffee hot enough. Just the fact that it leaks hot fluid all over the counter should be reason enough to recall it. Black & Decker should be ashamed to sell such an inferior product.
Customer Review: A little dissatisfied
My B&D spacemaker is not even 2 yrs old and it has started leaking all over the counter while brewing. Also the clock never worked right from the beginning, always ran fast, so I had to reset it at night if I was going to use the auto brewing. Other than that, I liked it alot as it doesn't sit right on the counter and you can wash the water reservoir separately, which is difficult on a counter model (we have well water & it gets yucky.)

Microwave oven can be really great to use and remarkably easy to master but like every household appliance, one also needs to exercise some degree of caution.

Here are some of the dos and donts in using this versatile piece of equipment.

1. Read the manual carefully. Often, the manual will have some information on what you can and cannot do with the oven. Remember that what you can do for a certain type of microwave is not something that you can do for all models. There are different types of microwave ovens, having different functions.

2. Read recipes ahead of time and make sure that you can put it inside the oven. The food may need to be thawed first before putting it inside the microwave oven.

3. Make sure that you got the time of cooking right. Otherwise, you may have a burnt food in your hands or worst a burnt house. Be careful in setting the time.

4. Make sure that the plates and bowls that you use are microwave-safe as this may cause them to break when they are not. What is more, your own microwave oven can also break from the explosion that can happen inside.

5. Dont add another extension cord apart from the cord that was originally with the product.

6. Never use plastic wrappings as they will only melt under the heat of the microwave oven. Also, watch out for containers of some food like margarine tubs. It is also a good idea to use glass for fatty foods because they tend to become hot when inside the oven.

7. Dont use the microwave oven for deep-frying, canning or heating the baby bottles. This is considered unsafe as the microwave oven do not have enough temperature control.

8. In using the oven for your popcorn snack.s, make sure that you watch the oven. The heat build-up from the pressure may cause a small fire. Also, make sure that when you are popping popcorns, you have time right. In fact, it is often safer to cut down the time indicated short.

9. Dont ever use the microwave oven to dry articles of clothing. This is extremely dangerous as this may cause a small fire inside your house.

10. Never let your youngsters use the oven on their own.

11. Make sure that you keep your microwave oven clean from any dripping so that the machine will run smoothly. A messy microwave oven will be slow and uneven in functioning.
